Role Summary
Due to continued growth and expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Broker to join our containers team. You should have strong interpersonal skills, results-driven and commercially minded and able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have some shipbroking experience (though not mandatory). Fluency in Mandarin as well as English is mandatory.
What you’ll be doing

-Support the day-to-day activities of the Brokers on the desk.
-Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clients.
-Help to manage internal data flow of key market information.
-Maintain a database of sales activity.
-Undertake administrative tasks such as dealing with emails, assisting with contracts and correspondence.
-Help to field queries and establish and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
-Attend meetings and events where required.
-Maintain accurate records and documentation and assist with producing internal and external reporting.
-Actively continue to develop knowledge and expertise in the Tankers market space.
-Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
-An interest in shipping/shipbroking
-Previous experience or exposure within shipbroking desirable
-Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), including Fluency in English as well as Mandarin.
-Personable and engaging, able to build strong relationships
-Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines
-Confident and able to work well under pressure, with ability to adapt
-Team player with a flexible approach
-Good numeracy skills and presentation skills
-Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
-Good MS office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
