We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our Life Sciences Systems business. This role is accountable for the full lifecycle of systems contracts—from request for quotation through successful equipment installation, customer acceptance, and final payment—while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and strong financial performance.
As General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
-Full profit and loss (P&L) ownership, ensuring revenue, booking, and profitability targets are met.
-Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and ensure long-term client relationships.
-Lead, coach, and develop the leadership team to drive accountability and high performance across all levels of the business.
-Oversee preparation of competitive and technically sound proposals.
-Provide strategic leadership in operations, sales, and project execution.
-Identify, implement, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class standards.
-Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
-Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive cost efficiency.
-Support sales efforts including proposal presentations, contract negotiations, and resolving customer disputes.
-Establish clear performance standards, long-term goals, and contingency plans.
-Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with sales, divisional, and corporate executives.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in life sciences technology, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
-Minimum of 10 years in a senior management or leadership role within manufacturing or high-tech industries.
-Proven experience in strategic planning, change management, and process re-engineering.
-Track record of success leading manufacturing projects.
-Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L.
-Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).
-Solid understanding of operations, supply chain, and complex sales with long life cycles.
-Working knowledge of factory automation systems, PLCs, robotics, and software programming.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage large teams.
-Strong ethical standards and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based manufacturing management tools.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
-Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds.
-Normal visual and hearing requirements for office and manufacturing floor environments.
-Exposure to moderate noise and physical hazards when on the production floor.
-Ability to wear appropriate PPE as required.
