This is a 'Good' (Ofsted, October 2023) rated provider of specialist education, supporting young people aged 11-19 with complex needs including autism, moderate and severe learning disabilities, speech, language, and communication needs, and challenging behaviours. The school prides itself on its small class sizes (up to 8 students) and high levels of support from a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, experienced teachers, and a superb therapy team.
The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and effective SEN Teaching Assistants who are ready to take on a key role in supporting students' learning and general wellbeing. As part of a committed team, you will:
Utilise your expertise to support students with diverse and complex needs.

Implement personalised plans to meet individual needs, including positive behaviour management and bespoke approaches to sensory and communication support.

Contribute to providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities through a broad and balanced curriculum.
*
Promote and encourage independence and personal development, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
*
Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enable them to enjoy and learn.
This role requires a flexible and adaptable approach, and your duties will vary to meet the needs of the students you support.
Key Requirements
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:
A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent (desirable).

GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or equivalent.

Proven experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
*
A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.

In-depth knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.

The ability to adapt and put pupils first, treating them as individuals.
*
A positive and creative approach to meeting pupils' individual needs.
*
The ability to work professionally and effectively alongside a range of professionals.

Salary: GBP12.37 - GBP13.49 per hour (GBP20,870.66 to GBP22,304.78 actual annual salary)

Hours: 37 hours per week - Term Time Only
