Position Overview
This position is responsible for testing products, recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing. The position will lead the 2nd and 3rd shift lab techs by communicating as needed to the other shifts to ensure conformity and that the quality process at Thomasville is not compromised. The lead will be on a daily call to update the IM team with anything quality related and report on returned, out of spec production or shipped product, quality trends outside of targets or any non-conformance.
This is a first shift position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Responsible for own personal safety at all times, as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow the CRH Life Saving Rules
-Maintain productive working relationships with customers and fellow employees
-Involved daily in the quality needs of the Thomasville facility
-Perform lab analysis as required for each operational phase; core drill, mine samples, finished product, projects, and new product development work
-Collect samples, prep, and test using laboratory apparatus and equipment to determine the sample characteristics
-Where applicable assemble, operate, maintain, and calibrate field and laboratory testing and measuring equipment
-Generate Certificates of Analysis for finished products where applicable
-Prepare customer samples as needed
-Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends including failed processes and corrective actions
-Analyze data to predict potential problems and take preventive actions
-Provide investigation, response, and follow up to product quality issues
-Perform general cleaning of work areas
-Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
-Lead by example to promote teamwork among QC and other stakeholders
-Schedule lab staff if needed
-Assist technical staff with troubleshooting, drive corrective action, and escalate issues to necessary stakeholders
-Monitor Daily logs, identify risks, and assist with the timely management of data
-Communicate with customers, build relationships with internal and external customers
-Always participate in knowledge transfer
-Assist in the development and implementation of industry-leading onboarding and training SOP
-Lead the effort in training new employees and assist in continued education for technical staff
Requirements
-Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
-Able to work independently with attention to detail
-Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment
-Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadline
Education/Experience
-High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-Bachelor's degree or associate Degree from a college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing and quality organization is preferred.
-Industry experience desirable but not necessary.
-Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
