The Engine Technician I is responsible for providing high quality repair service on natural gas engines.
Duties & Responsibilities Learn to install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with supervision Learn to troubleshoot engines, fault isolation, proper balancing, over speed testing and run engine test stand Learn what parts are needed to complete various tasks and understand how to track time and parts used for reconstruction Learn how to recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears and valves Learn the correct operations of all repairs and adjustments Other duties as assigned Skills & Competencies Knowledge of using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers and torque specs Must be able to learn the operation of various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a company computer including Microsoft applications and be able to learn company specific applications Communicate information effectively with all levels of co-workers by phone, email or in person Education & Experience High school diploma or GED is preferred 1+ years relevant work experience rebuilding natural gas and/or diesel engines
